Dolph O. Adams Awardee

Congratulations to Molecular Biology and Biochemistry Professor Melissa Lodoen, who has been named the 2018 Dolph O. Adams awardee by the Society for Leukocyte Biology. Her research, which focuses on the role of monocytes and macrophages in host defense during Toxoplasma gondii infection, is in line with the goal of this important award- to recognize an impactful immunologist and leukocyte biologist.

New Study Identifies Anti-Cancer Effect

Molecular Biology and Biochemistry Professor David Fruman has published a new manuscript in the journal Science Translational Medicine. In the paper, Professor Fruman and colleagues identify an alternative anti-cancer benefit of statins- drugs normally prescribed for treating high cholesterol.
